It seems that many people, mostly teens, are no longer afraid of the shushing librarian. In fact, many of the mockers are so blatant that libraries are shutting down in the middle of the day to put an end to the hassle. If you hoped you'd be in a respected professional position, you might need to revisit the idea that not everyone respects your status as knowledge keeper of the universe. One challenge of your job as a librarian will be to have a "SHHH" strong enough to stun a modern teenager. Good luck with that...
